Publix Super Markets Inc. will feature a St. Petersburg-based coffee roaster in in-store cafes in 130 locations across the Southeast.
In-store cafes serving Kahwa will first appear at Publix stores in Winter Garden and Bradenton. It will be rolled out to the remaining stores by year’s end, Kahwa said.
The new cafes come just a year and a half after Publix opened its first in-store Starbucks. That program was in the pilot phase when a Starbucks opened inside a South Tampa store in January 2017. At that time, the grocer said “dozens” more in-store Starbucks were in the works.
