Shopping centers have been springing up in Central Florida to cater to the region’s growing population.
In recent weeks, nearly 350,000 square feet of new retail developments or renovations have been announced around Orlando. That adds to all the construction currently ongoing in the City Beautiful, as Orlando accounts for nearly 12 percent of Florida’s retail construction — bested only by South Florida’s Broward submarket in terms of new development, according to a Colliers International second-quarter Florida report released during August’s International Council of Shopping Centers’ Florida Conference & Deal Making event.
