Dollar General Corp. has been poking around downtown Orlando for space for its newer, smaller concept as the company gears up to open more in the U.S. this year.
The Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based (NYSE: DG) chain wants roughly 4,000 square feet of space in downtown Orlando for its DGX concept, Orlando Business Journal has learned. The chain has not signed a lease and is evaluating several locations. Dollar General plans to open about 975 new stores this year with roughly 10 of those being DGX retail locations.
Dollar General opened its first DGX location in Nashville in January 2017 and has since expanded to Philadelphia and Raleigh, N.C.
