Another fashion icon brand opened Friday morning at Mall at Millenia — the Paris luxury goods maker Hermes.
Hermes, best known for its handbags that on average retail from $5,000 to $10,000, is debuting a 3,800-square-foot boutique, joining other giants of the industry such as Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton in the mall.
It’s the company’s 35th store in the United States, including shops in West Palm Beach and Miami. CEO Robert Chavez said it will be an important location for Hermes because it will serve as an introduction for many American and international travelers.
“This will be the first time a lot of customers visit Hermes in person,” Chavez said. “Already we’ve been told that people have been calling and asking when the store will open.’’
