An Orlando developer has doubled the amount of retail space he wants to build for his mixed-use project on International Drive near Walt Disney World.
Desai Ventures LLC’s Vince Desai now wants to build roughly 100,100 square feet of retail for his Global City Center project near International Drive and Vineland Avenue up from 50,050, according to Orange County records. He also has increased his plans for number of luxury vacation homes to 896, up from 708. In addition, Desai Ventures looks to build 20,500 square feet of office space and an 800-person banquet facility.
Construction may exceed $188 million, according to industry standards. Project documents surfaced in February.
