A new project featuring a distillery — the first of its kind in Clermont — may uncork more development in the growing Lake County city.
Developer Heritage Square Florida LLC — owned by Tom and Keith Kovatch — plans to build roughly 62,000 square feet of space dubbed Heritage Square featuring a distillery, an events space, a tasting room, shops and restaurants on 5.7 acres northeast of the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and 12th Street. Gig Harbor, Washington-based Heritage Distilling Co. will operate a distillery on site — the company’s first outside the Northwest U.S.
Heritage Distilling Co. sells vodkas, gins and whiskeys and has signed agreements with sports teams including the Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Giants as it grows nationally.
