Publix is the best grocery store chain in four states, according to a recent report from 24/7 Wall Street.
To compile the report, 24/7 Wall Street used data from Yelp (NYSE:YELP) and Google trends. They found the five highest-rated chains in each state and then used Google trends data to find the chain with the highest search frequency. The highest rated chain that was the most searched was assumed to be the best.
Shoppers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina made Publix their most popular store. Cincinnati-based Kroger (NYSE: KR) had the most stores on the list with 13 states. Hy-Vee, an Iowas-based grocer, had five states and Albertsons, based in Idaho, tied Publix with four states
